Jude 1:24-25

“Now to Him who is able to protect you from stumbling and to make you stand in the presence of His glory, blameless and with great joy, to the only God our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, power, and authority before all time, now and forever, Amen.” Jude 1:24-25

I want to encourage you today with God’s word. I want you to remember the power God has given and continues to pour out on his people to live on this earth. You are not without help. You are not left alone. God did not remove his presence from the earth when Jesus left. Remember Jesus’ words, “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever. He is the Spirit of truth. The world is unable to receive Him because it doesn’t see Him or know Him. But you do know Him, because He remains with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I am coming to you.” John 14:16-18. You do NOT have to walk this road alone. You need to know that God is with you and will empower you through the Holy Spirit!

Jude gives us hope by telling us that God can protect you from stumbling! Doesn’t that give you peace and joy knowing that God is able and willing. He is a good Father. Just like we are there helping our child learn to walk, God is watching out for you. God stands you up on your feet and calls you. He stands in front of you and directs you to walk to him. He is close and can reach out and pull you up as you begin to fall.

God is here to help you, my friend. He wants to empower you to walk without stumbling. He gave you the Holy Spirit. He has given you his word for instructing. He has given you pastors, elders, and teachers to help lead you in the ways of the Lord. God so graciously provided the means necessary for you to succeed in the maturing process. All of these are gifts to you from a Father who loves you and wants to see you grow and overcome.

If you fall, as many of us do when we are learning to walk, stand up and repent. God tells us in his word “though a righteous man falls seven times, he will get up, but the wicked will stumble into ruin.” Proverbs 24:26. It’s the awesome ability to repent and be washed clean that makes us blameless before the Father. My sins are not counted against me when they are under the blood of Jesus Christ.

That alone is enough to stir up joy in your day! No wonder Jude says you can stand with “great joy” in his presence. How can you not be filled with joy knowing how good God is? Joy bubbles up in our spirit when we read the promises of God and believe the truth in His word. God has provided a way for you and I to walk out our salvation with His guided hand of protection, a means to be cleansed and made pure, and the peace of mind that fills us with joy.

Don’t forget how that is possible. Jude ends the book by saying it is because of “God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord.” There is only one way, dear reader, for you to receive the gift of salvation, the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, and the grace to walk it out. The cross is the means by which God provided us to be saved, (1 Cor. 1:18) and the Holy Spirit in us is the deposit that legitimized the process. (1 Cor. 1:22).

If you are not saved now is the day to repent (Luke 24:47). You must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and the finished work of the cross (Acts 16:31). Confess with your mouth and believe (Romans 10:9). Contact me or someone you know who is a born again believer (John 1:3) and let them help you with this journey. Then watch and see how God can keep you from stumbling, keep you blameless and fill you with joy.

If you are already born again, step into the promises of God! First repent if you need to. Then start listening to the Holy Spirit and let him lead you and guide you (John 16:13). Get in the Bible daily and understand his instructions and promises (2 Tim. 2:15). Then begin to walk in confidence in who God is and who you are in Him. Remember the words of Jude and walk in the truth of God’s word!

“Now to Him who is able to protect you from stumbling and to make you stand in the presence of His glory, blameless and with great joy, to the only God our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, power, and authority before all time, now and forever, Amen.” Jude 1:24-25

  1. Thank you for reminding us that our Lord is always working on our behalf. What great love the Father has bestowed upon us that we should be called the children of God!
