Ephesians 2:10

“For we are His creation, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time so that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10.

You are crafted by the hands of God! The Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth. God designed you. You were uniquely made to be you. You are His masterpiece.

The Bible calls us His workmanship. The definition of workmanship is:

  1. something effected, made, or produced: WORK
  2. the art or skill of a workman: also the quality imparted to the thing in the process of making

You and I are not here by accident. God purposefully and intentionally gave us life. He did that with a purpose in mind. Ephesians tell us that our purpose is to do good works.

Think with me for a minute about this on a human level. When a workman, like a woodworker or a carpenter, makes his craft, he does this with a purpose in mind.

When a woodworker designs and creates a rocking chair he intends it to be used to sit on and rock. When a carpenter builds a house he intends for it to be lived in and used. When a car manufacture builds cars he intends them to be driven. Hasbro is the producer and manufacturer of board games. These games are created to be played. If none of these creations are used it is a waste of effort, time, talent, and resources.

Every object of creation is intended to be used. Each has a purpose. The same is true of us. We are God’s creation and we are created for a purpose. He intends for us to be used for His glory.

So my question to you is, are you allowing God to use you? Are you doing good works? Are you living a purposeful life?

Take time today to meditate on Ephesians 2:10. Consider your spiritual gifts, your God-given talents, your education, and training. Then make a plan to start using them for Gods glory.

Make your Master proud. Start today, walk in them!
